Profile & Special Focus
The Quatuor Magenta, named after the vibrant boulevard in the heart of Paris, is made up of French violinists Ida Derbesse and Elena Watson—Perry, French violist Claire Pass-Lanneau, and Canadian cellist Fiona Robson. The quartet took form in 2021 when the four musicians came together with a desire to explore the rich string quartet repertoire. Having studied individually at a kaleidoscope of prestigious music schools including McGill University, The Guildhall School and Cleveland Institute of Music, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris was their common denominator.
