Profile & Special Focus
Cuarteto Iberia was founded in Madrid in 2018. Since its inceptiom, the quartet has upheld the string quartet tradition of its teachers, bringing a new point of view to the interpretation of the great works of the genre. From a very young age, the individual need of each of the members to delve into the work written for string quartet, has led them to get together and create this group, which is the maximum exponent of their artistic expression and with which they manage to create an exceptional musical atmosphere.
One of the best qualities of the quartet is their versatility to embrace music of diverse composers and to create projects based on the research and study of authors from different periods and style.
Cuarteto Iberia is since February 2023 one of the selected quartets inside the MERITA project, organised by Le Dimore del Quartetto in collaboration with many european institutions. In this project they are working together with other art forms and try to create innovative concert formats combining music and other arts (theater, poetry, sculpture, dance…).
